2019 was the year we celebrated exceptional women that were driving supply chain to new heights in Canada. In 2020, we are celebrating the Canadian immigrants who are doing the same.

The size, scope and complexity of supply chain necessitates that we tap into Canada’s diversity to uncover and develop our country’s greatest talents to our advantage. The Canadian Immigrants Impacting Supply Chain™ initiative is the means whereby Canadian immigrants are acknowledged for their contributions to the supply chain profession. Those who demonstrate pioneering spirit and visionary leadership are celebrated as being important contributors and role models to others moving forward; they represent our ambitions and our country’s values—strengthening both in the process.


Canadian Immigrants Impacting Supply Chain is a nomination program. It will launch on International Migrants Day, December 18th, 2019, with nominations closing on March 18th, 2020.

Those nominated must have been done so by their employers
Students must be nominated by their Dean, Provost or President
Those who own their own business must be nominated by the Board Chair, or in their absence, an appropriate industry peer.

If nominated, the nominee must present the following to the nominator:

Along with submitting the above, the nominator must also explain how the nominee is impacting supply chain and emerging as a leader in the organization and profession, along with details of their achievements, education and career potential.

A Selection Committee, led by the most reputable names and prominent leaders in Canadian supply chain, will meet in April to agree upon those Awardees who make the official list.

The official list of Canadian Immigrants Impacting Supply Chain will be publicly announced in mid-May 2020.


Those eligible for nomination must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must currently reside in Canada.
  • Must be either a Permanent Resident or a naturalized Canadian Citizen and have immigrated to Canada no more than 10 years ago (i.e. not before 2010).


The official Canadian Immigrants Impacting Supply Chain list will be publicly announced in mid-May 2020. The Awardees will be listed according to the following categories:

  • Private Sector
  • Public Sector (i.e. Government and Healthcare)
  • Academia (Both Students and Faculty)

We will hold a recognition breakfast at the 2020 Supply Chain Canada National Conference and Fellow Awards Gala to honour the Awardees, who will also receive a one-year complimentary membership to Supply Chain Canada.

If you know a Canadian immigrant who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the profession, furthered the industry, and left their mark on the community and country at large, nominate them today.

Leadership and Achievements

In this section, please detail the nominee’s impact on organization, community and/or country.

Describe how the nominee has demonstrated leadership. This might include the application of best practices, formal and informal mentoring, innovation, strategic planning, integrity, employee nurturing and retention, or participation in association initiatives.

Describe what the nominee has achieved in the time they have been at the organization. This might include exceeding the expectations placed on them, going above and beyond what is asked of them, and demonstrating a general excellence in execution.

Education and Career Potential

Please provide a history of the nominee’s education up until the point of nomination. This includes, formal education such as post-secondary institutions and certificates (e.g. if they hold an SCMP); informal education related to conscious, proactive efforts to better their understanding; and non-formal education in the form of practical, work-, school- and experience-related learning. Also indicate the nominee’s career potential (i.e. how far you think they can go in the supply chain profession) and what gives you that impression.
