What is Women Leading Supply Chain?

It is a national initiative by Supply Chain Canada dedicated to advancing women into visible, influential leadership roles across the supply chain profession.

As supply chains face increasing complexity, disruption, and global pressure, leadership diversity is no longer optional — it is essential. This initiative exists to elevate women as decision-makers, thought leaders, and architects of Canada’s supply chain future.

Through thought leadership, signature events, national recognition, and an advisory committee of senior leaders, Women Leading Supply Chain moves beyond participation to build lasting influence, impact, and legacy.

Anne No is Regional Vice President, Commercial Banking at RBC, where she leads a team of 300 people who support mid-market businesses in the Québec West region. With more than 20 years at RBC, Anne supports entrepreneurs and executives in their growth, productivity, and expansion strategies. Earlier in her career, she worked as an engineer in the agri-food industry, giving her a practical understanding of manufacturing and operational realities.

She also launched RBCx, RBC’s innovation and tech banking platform for Eastern Canada, and is recognized for her ability to connect traditional industries with innovative technology sectors.

Originally from Europe, Anne is an industrial engineer with a degree from McGill University and holds an MBA in finance and entrepreneurship from HEC Montréal.
Stephanie Forbes is a nationally recognized value chain expert with nearly 25 years of experience leading multi-billion-dollar projects across Canada and the US, including TC Energy’s Keystone Pipeline and Syncrude expansions totaling over $21 billion.

As founder of The Forbes Group, a full-service consultancy specializing in value chain optimization, sustainability, governance, and business performance, Stephanie helps organizations build resilient supply chains that drive sustainable growth. Her expertise spans contract negotiation, procurement fraud prevention, and complex dispute resolution, underpinning her reputation as a trusted advisor on major capital projects.

Stephanie is also the author of Global Wealth Local Impact: How Supply Chains Create Thriving Companies, Cultures and Countries, reinforcing her role as a leading voice on the cultural and economic power of supply chains.

Passionate about developing best-in-class governance models and continuous improvement programs, Stephanie combines deep industry knowledge with practical strategies to solve complex business challenges.
Cindy Kieu is a Canadian public-sector executive and governance leader advancing strategic procurement, operational transformation, and institutional resilience across complex public institutions. Her career spans regulatory work in Northern Canada, major infrastructure procurement with the City of Edmonton, and operational leadership within one of Canada’s largest municipal policing agencies.

She currently serves as A/Executive Director of the Business Operations Division at Edmonton Police Service, overseeing an asset-intensive portfolio that supports mission-critical public safety operations, with responsibility for enterprise risk oversight, capital stewardship, and operational resilience.

A lawyer by training, Cindy serves on the National Board of Supply Chain Canada, the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association Board, and the Academic Advisory Council for MacEwan University.

Amanda Smith-Muir is Senior Director of Transportation at Loblaw Companies Limited, where she leads the movement of goods across the network, ensuring seamless service to stores while advancing the organization’s Freight-as-a-Service capabilities.

With more than 25 years of experience across supply chain and procurement, she has shaped transportation strategy, strengthened vendor partnerships, and driven operational excellence at scale. Amanda is known for combining strategic vision with hands-on execution to deliver results.

Danielle Barkman is Director of Marketing & Business Growth at the Women Business Enterprises Canada Council (WBE Canada), where she leads national marketing strategy, corporate engagement, and growth initiatives focused on increasing participation of women-owned businesses in supply chains.

She works with corporate and government organizations to strengthen supplier engagement, improve access to qualified suppliers, and support procurement teams by connecting enterprise buyers with women-owned businesses across Canada.

With a background in business development, marketing, and partnership strategy, Danielle brings direct experience in how organizations identify, evaluate, and engage suppliers. She has built and led two businesses and mentors women entrepreneurs in procurement readiness, scaling operations, and building financially sustainable businesses.

Danielle brings valuable perspective on supplier access, market engagement, and the evolving role of procurement in driving economic participation and supply chain performance.

Robert Wiebe is Chief Supply Chain Officer at Loblaw Companies Limited, with core responsibility for supply chain.

He joined Loblaw in 1984 as a part-time order assembler at the Winnipeg Distribution Centre and has held progressive leadership roles across inbound logistics, national transport operations, and enterprise business processes. Over the course of his career, he has played a key role in shaping and leading Loblaw’s supply chain operations through major transformation and growth.

Rob previously served as Executive Vice President, Supply Chain and Enterprise Business Processes, and later as Chief Administrative Officer, with responsibility for Supply Chain, Central Store Operations and Merchandising, Enterprise Business Process Management, and the Enterprise Procurement Group. In 2022, he returned his focus fully to supply chain to help guide the organization through significant business transformation.

Kira Thind is Director, National Project Management – Supply Chain at Loblaw Companies Limited, where she leads national supply chain transformation initiatives and enterprise project governance across one of Canada’s largest retail distribution networks. In this role, she partners with senior leadership to deliver strategic initiatives that enhance operational performance, enable cross-functional collaboration, and strengthen the efficiency and scalability of Loblaw’s national distribution centre network.

With more than eight years of experience across Canada’s retail and transportation sectors, Kira has built a career leading complex logistics and distribution operations, operational transformation, and large-scale workforce environments. Prior to Loblaw, she held senior operations leadership roles at Canada Post Corporation, managing large-scale processing operations within one of the country’s busiest facilities. Earlier at Metro Ontario Inc., she led warehouse operations and implemented performance improvements that strengthened productivity, service delivery, and workforce engagement.

Kira is recognized for her leadership in driving operational excellence, team building, change management, and strategic problem solving in complex environments. A passionate advocate for advancing women in supply chain leadership, she serves as the National Supply Chain Lead for Loblaw’s Go Further Women initiative and as a member of Supply Chain Canada’s Women in Supply Chain Advisory Committee, supporting initiatives that elevate women into visible leadership roles across the profession.

Kira holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, postgraduate education in Supply Chain Management, and is a certified Lean Six Sigma professional.

Scott Cypher serves as Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations for Québec and Atlantic Canada at Loblaw Companies Limited. In this role, he is responsible for positioning the region as a high-performing, integrated distribution network capable of competing within the third-party logistics market. He leads the alignment of six distribution centres under a unified performance model while accelerating technology adoption, piloting innovative operational practices, and bringing new supply chain capabilities to market across the region.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Scott brings extensive expertise in grocery supply chain operations across Canada and the United States. Prior to this role, he served as Director of Operations at the Witron and SSI Automation Distribution Centre in Ontario, supporting DHL/Matrix operations. During his tenure, he strengthened operational execution, increased throughput, and reinforced performance accountability across the facility.

Earlier in his career, Scott held the role of General Manager in Saskatchewan and several Senior Director positions within Loblaw. He is recognized for his disciplined approach to performance management, deep expertise in warehouse automation and technology-enabled distribution, and commitment to simplifying work by eliminating non-value-added activities across the network.

Scott is also a strong advocate for developing future leaders and fostering inclusive workplaces, actively supporting initiatives such as Go Further Women that advance mentorship, leadership growth, and opportunities for women across the supply chain profession.

Robert Howell is Vice President, National Distribution Operations at Loblaw Companies Limited, where he oversees the organization’s warehouse operations network across Canada.

Robert began his career with Loblaw in 1986 at the St. John’s Distribution Centre, working part-time as an order assembler while attending school. Over the years, he progressed through a range of roles across Atlantic Canada before taking on his first senior leadership position in 2005 as General Manager, Warehouse Operations in Calgary.

He returned east in 2008 as Senior Director of Transport Operations, then moved west again in 2014 to serve as Divisional Lead for Western Canada. In 2018, Robert led the complex launch of Loblaw’s first automated distribution centre, a major milestone in his career. Building on that success, he was appointed Vice President of Eastern Canada Operations in 2022 and promoted to his current national leadership role in 2026.

Robert is recognized for his deep operational knowledge, long-standing leadership across the Loblaw network, and commitment to building high-performing teams across complex distribution environments.

Shalini Talwar is a procurement and supply chain executive with more than 22 years of global experience across aviation, logistics, manufacturing, and service sectors. Her career has included leadership roles with organizations such as Cargojet Airways, FedEx, Bombardier, and Airbase Services. She now serves as Vice President, Procurement at Superior Plus, where she leads the development of a scalable and centralized procurement model across the enterprise.

Shalini is known for bridging strategy with execution. From ERP implementation and complex contract negotiations to leading cross-functional teams, she brings a strong focus on governance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation in high-growth and transformation environments.

Beyond her operational leadership, Shalini serves as Vice Chair of the Supply Chain Canada National Board of Directors, where she supports innovation, ethics, and professional advancement across the supply chain community. She brings a global perspective and results-driven leadership to building resilient, future-ready supply chains.
