Bill S-211, An Act to enact the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act and to amend the Customs Tariff, takes effect on January 24, 2024. For entities and government institutions that meet the public reporting obligation, the first report must be filed on or before May 31, 2024.

Daniel Fabiano is a partner with the Fasken law firm. His practice focuses on public procurement and on privacy/information protection. In his procurement practice, Daniel frequently advises clients on managing and mitigating procurement risks through strategic advice and effective document drafting. Daniel negotiates contracts, advises on bid disputes, and helps a range of organizations ensure they have effective procurement policies. Daniel has both a “Certificate in Public Procurement Law and Practice” and a “Certificate in Advance Procurement Law and Practice: Major Projects and Tendering.” Daniel also advises clients on innovative procurement methodologies and related strategies, and has authored an innovation procurement toolkit for the Ontario broader public sector. In 2018, Daniel served as General Counsel (Interim) of eHealth Ontario.
